Kumar went missing earlier this week, prompting his family to report him abducted to the Lucknow Police. Investigators located him in Bareilly within 72 hours, a swift resolution made possible by a brief phone call he made from a roadside stall.
Kumar, employed in the electricity department, reportedly developed a severe addiction to online gaming, leading to losses of approximately Rs 40 lakh. To finance this habit, he borrowed heavily from various online lending platforms. As loan repayments became unmanageable and threats escalated, including the potential circulation of private photos, Kumar chose to disappear.
He initially traveled to Delhi before settling in Bareilly, all while a missing person complaint was filed by his brother on January 6th. Two special police teams were immediately formed to investigate the suspicious disappearance, ultimately leading to his recovery and the unraveling of his elaborate scheme.
