Fugitive Rapper Taunts Cops After Escaping Hospital

A manhunt is underway for Daniel Boakye, 21, a drill rapper facing deportation to Ghana. Boakye escaped from Lewisham Hospital in south-east London on February 15th, having previously evaded a prison officer escort at West Middlesex University Hospital on February 10th, only to be recaptured the following day.
Recent CCTV footage shows Boakye boarding a London bus, wearing a grey zip-up top and tracksuit bottoms. He is also known by his rapper name DSavv and has taunted authorities with an online video. In the clip, posted to his Instagram account with nearly 500,000 followers, he raps about being free and mocks the government and police.
Boakye was sentenced to six years and five months in July 2023 for his involvement in multiple armed gang robberies between June 2021 and January 2022. These robberies involved knifepoint thefts of over £155,000 in cryptocurrency. His accomplices have also been jailed. The Met Police have released an updated image and are appealing for public assistance.
