Mangaluru City police's CCB unit has apprehended a 32-year-old suspect, Faraz alias Mohammed Faraz, who had been a fugitive for approximately two years. The accused, a resident of Deralakatte, failed to appear in court for multiple criminal cases.
City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH reported that Faraz is implicated in about 10 criminal cases lodged in various Mangaluru police stations. These offenses span robbery, attempted murder, drug peddling, theft, and assaulting prison officials while on duty.
Following his release on bail, Faraz absconded, evading court appearances for nearly two years. Cases against him include four at Ullal police station (attempted murder, robbery, assault, theft), two at Konaje (assault, criminal intimidation, theft), two at Mangaluru North (assault, intimidation, kidnapping, robbery), one at Barke (attempted murder, obstruction of duty), and one at Urva (drug peddling).
Faraz is officially listed as a rowdy-sheeter at Ullal police station, with six warrants and one proclamation still pending. He has since been transferred to Urva police station for further legal proceedings.
