Grant County detectives arrested a man accused of selling drugs to a 26-year-old festival-goer who died of a suspected overdose. The arrest occurred two hours after the death of Zion Randall, who was attending the Bass Canyon electronic dance music festival in Central Washington on August 16.
Friends of Randall informed investigators that he had purchased cocaine and molly before collapsing and dying. Quincy Travers was apprehended that same night and has since been charged with felony drug dealing.
Detectives met with Randall's friends, who offered their assistance. With their help, undercover officers collected the remaining drugs for analysis and identified the alleged dealer. The friends then facilitated another drug purchase and helped locate the suspect.
Investigators commended the friends for their loyalty and cooperation during a difficult time, highlighting their role in bringing the alleged dealer to justice. Travers currently awaits trial on the felony charge, with potential additional charges pending if Randall's death is directly linked to Travers's drugs.
