- Streamers were convicted of inflicting violence and incitement to hatred.

Two French streamers, Safine Hamadi and Owen Cenazandotti, were given suspended prison sentences on Wednesday by the Nice criminal court. They were convicted for inflicting violence and inciting hatred against Raphael Graven, 46, known online as Jean Pormanove, during a live-streamed event that lasted several days.
While Graven's death occurred while he and the streamers slept, the court did not charge them with manslaughter. Prosecutors suggested his death was likely due to poor health and a fragile heart. The streamers asserted that the violent acts and humiliations were scripted and consented to by Graven.
Hamadi received an 18-month suspended sentence and a €5,000 fine, expressing remorse. Cenazandotti was given a two-year suspended sentence and a €15,000 fine. Both are banned from social media for six months. The court acquitted them of exploiting psychological frailty, as Graven had previously told police he consented.
Graven reportedly earned about €265,000 from his streams between 2021 and 2025. The streaming platform Kick, where the incident aired, is now under formal investigation, with an arrest warrant issued for some of its officers.
