Four individuals have been charged in France as part of an investigation into alleged spying activities for China. The probe specifically targeted Elon Musk's satellite internet service, Starlink, and other critical entities, including military sectors.
Prosecutors revealed that two Chinese nationals are suspected of trying to obtain satellite data. They were reportedly conducting satellite interception from an Airbnb property in the Gironde department. These individuals had stated on their visa applications that they worked for companies involved in wireless communication and satellite systems.
Authorities detained two additional individuals upon arriving at the property, who are suspected of illegally importing technical equipment. A used Starlink antenna and a satellite signal display device were found at their business premises. Some suspects indicated that the Chinese nationals were trying to understand Starlink's technology.
