25 Oct
Summary
- 31-year-old man dies from drug overdose
- Four friends accused of injecting him with drugs
- Victim's father files complaint, police searching for suspects

On October 25, 2025, the Sahnewal police in Ludhiana, India, have booked four men for culpable homicide after their 31-year-old friend allegedly died due to a drug overdose in Rurka village. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the father of the deceased, Rashpal Singh.
According to Rashpal Singh, his son Gurinder Singh, a driver from Rurka village, was at home when Navdeep Singh of Rurka village and Amardeep Singh of Dehlon village came and took him along. When Gurinder did not return home, Rashpal started searching for him. He eventually found the accused injecting drugs into Gurinder's right arm in a vacant area. Seeing Rashpal, the accused fled the scene. Rashpal then took his unconscious son to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
Rashpal Singh has alleged that his son died because the accused had injected him with drugs. The Sahnewal police have registered a case under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3 (5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the four accused, who are currently on the run. The police are working to track them down.
