Targeted attacks foiled: Four Bishnoi gang members arrested

Four alleged operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were arrested in Derabassi, Mohali, after an intense shootout with law enforcement on Wednesday afternoon. The Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force, in a joint operation with Mohali police, intercepted the suspects who were reportedly planning targeted attacks in the Chandigarh Tricity and Patiala regions.
During the operation, seven .32 caliber pistols and 70 live cartridges were seized from the accused, identified as residents of Rajpura, Patiala. The police reported that the operatives opened fire on the approaching team, with bullets striking bulletproof jackets. In the ensuing retaliatory fire, two suspects sustained leg injuries before all four were apprehended.
Investigators revealed that the arrested individuals were operating under the direction of a foreign-based gangster. They were allegedly involved in establishing safe hideouts, supplying weapons, and executing hits. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of their network and potential connections to the broader criminal syndicate.
