18 Jun
Summary
- Autopsy report dated March 25, 2026, indicated foul play in Vennela's death.
- Seven ante-mortem wounds were documented on the child's facial region.
- An FIR for murder was registered over two months after the initial report.

The autopsy report of six-year-old Vennela, dated March 25, 2026, suggests foul play was involved in her death. This report detailed the cause of death as combined asphyxia and blunt force trauma to the abdomen, noting seven ante-mortem wounds on her face.
The Kadugodi police initially registered an Unnatural Death Registry report on the same day Vennela was found deceased. However, the FIR for murder was only filed on June 4, more than two months later, raising questions about the delay.
Senior police officials confirmed the autopsy report clearly indicated murder. In response to the delayed FIR and subsequent scrutiny, three police personnel have been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty.
Vennela's father, Praveen, stated that his daughter had been living with her mother. He was informed of the death by his brother-in-law and later received the autopsy report, which, upon consultation with a doctor, highlighted signs of foul play.
