Actor Darius McCrary Arrested at U.S.-Mexico Border Over Missed Child Support

As of October 11th, 2025, former 'Family Matters' star Darius McCrary has been in jail since last Sunday. The actor, who played Eddie Winslow on the popular 1990s sitcom, was arrested at the border between the United States and Mexico on an outstanding warrant for missing a court appearance in Michigan regarding unpaid child support.

McCrary's representative, Ann Barlow, stated that the actor was unaware of the warrant at the time and was actually traveling to Tijuana, Mexico to partner with a real estate developer building homes for the homeless. Barlow explained that the missed court appearance was due to the notice being sent to McCrary's P.O. Box, giving him only three days to appear, and that he had been sick and not checking the box as frequently.

Despite his legal troubles, McCrary has maintained a steady acting career over the years, appearing in various TV shows and films such as 'The Young and the Restless', 'Transformers', and 'Saw VI'. However, he has also faced previous arrests for failing to pay child support in the past.

As of the current date, McCrary remains in custody, with his next court date set for October 15th. The situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges some celebrities face in balancing their personal and professional lives.
