Jordan Jones, a player for the Arena Football One League's Michigan Arsenal, was fatally shot outside the Saddle Bar in Acworth, Georgia, on March 7. Jones, who also served as a security staffer at the establishment, was killed during an altercation.
According to the bar manager, surveillance footage indicates Jones stepped in to break up a fight involving Daniel Di Vonne Parsons. The manager reported witnessing Parsons retrieve a firearm from his vehicle before shooting Jones in the back.
Parsons, 25, has since been arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. The Saddle Bar held a vigil for Jones and has announced plans to increase security and police presence. Jones previously played college football at the University of West Alabama and in the Indoor Football League.
