Pamela Dresser, a 59-year-old Florida resident, was arrested on June 7 for allegedly driving her pickup truck towards a group of children playing outside. Authorities reported that Dresser shouted racial slurs and referred to her actions as "target practice." The children's mother stated that Dresser admitted to attempting to run them over.
Dresser was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, four counts of child abuse, and two counts of corruption by threat. She claimed she was making a wide turn to avoid a cart and denied swerving at the children. However, witnesses reported seeing her swerve and heard her use racial slurs and make the "target practice" comment, which she later called a joke.
During her arrest, Dresser allegedly made threatening remarks to the officers, promising a "special present." She is currently held at Brevard County Jail on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on July 2.
