A Florida woman identified as Samantha Adams, 39, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following an alleged incident involving a 69-year-old man she met through a dating app. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd referred to Adams as a "Black Widow," stating she attempted to kill the victim and extort him. The alleged crime occurred on August 17, 2026, when Adams reportedly gave the victim a shot glass containing a beverage she had laced with benzodiazepine.
Following the drugging, Adams allegedly demanded $1,000 from the victim. When he could not produce the funds, she left his home. The victim later began to feel ill while driving and was found unconscious by his granddaughter, who took him home and later called 911. At the hospital, he was treated for suspected opioid overdose with Narcan and diagnosed with benzodiazepine poisoning, metabolic encephalopathy, dehydration, and acute kidney injury.
Adams was arrested ten days after the incident on August 27, 2026. She faces multiple charges including attempted murder, resisting an officer, offering prostitution, tampering with evidence, and several drug-related offenses. Authorities found various prescription medications in her vehicle during the arrest. Investigators are also looking into a past Lake County investigation involving an individual named "Nala" who allegedly targeted elderly men for money.
