A Florida man, Keith Wallis, 39, is facing multiple felony charges for an organized retail theft scheme involving trading cards and taco seasoning. Between July 2025 and February 2026, Wallis allegedly targeted Target locations from Miami to Orlando.
Investigators suspect Wallis committed approximately 75 thefts. His method involved selecting numerous trading card boxes and an equal number of taco seasoning packets, paying only for the seasoning at self-checkout. This scheme resulted in losses of over $10,000 for Target.
Wallis is accused of reselling the stolen trading cards on eBay, amassing close to $40,000 in revenue. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities exploring potential thefts at other retailers. If convicted, Wallis could face up to 90 years in prison.
