Summary
- Influencer Braden Peters charged for firing gun at alligator.
- The incident occurred during a livestream in the Everglades.
- Peters faces charges for unlawfully discharging a firearm.

Braden Peters, an online influencer popular within the "looksmaxxing" subculture, faces new charges in Florida related to a livestreamed incident. On April 28, 2026, Peters was charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in public. This charge follows a March 26, 2026, livestream from the Everglades near Miami where he fired a dozen bullets at an alligator.
Peters, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, is scheduled to appear in Miami-Dade County Court on May 20, 2026. Authorities did not charge him with harming the alligator, which might have been deceased. The stunt prompted backlash and an investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Andrew Morales and Yabdiel Annibal Cotto Torres, also online personalities, face similar charges for allegedly firing weapons that day. All three were part of a group on an airboat excursion in a state nature preserve. Peters has over 300,000 followers on the streaming service Kick.
This is not the first time Peters has been charged for livestreamed activities. In February 2026, he was accused of instigating a violent fight between two women for online views while broadcasting. His defense lawyers stated he relied on guidance from a licensed airboat guide and that no one was harmed. Peters was also hospitalized in Miami recently after an apparent overdose while streaming.
