The operation, allegedly run by 26-year-old Maxwell Horvath, was described by officials as "Breaking Bad on steroids" due to its scale and sophistication.
Horvath is charged with multiple counts related to firearms possession by a convicted felon and possession of illegal weapons, with further charges pending for explosive devices. The investigation began in September, focusing on a potent kratom derivative called 7-OH. Horvath's business, "Overseas Organics," reportedly produced a substance 13 times more potent than morphine.
During the raid, authorities discovered five IEDs, numerous firearms including automatic weapons, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and precursor chemicals for explosives. Sheriff Ivey stated this was the largest seizure of its kind in the country, emphasizing the extreme danger posed by Horvath's activities, which included manufacturing suppressors and automatic weapons.
