A disturbing incident occurred on Tiger Shore Beach in Stuart, Florida, where a 26-year-old Venezuelan national, Alexander Hernandez-Gonzalez, is accused of attempting to drown a woman. The attack allegedly happened late on a Thursday evening, shortly after Hernandez-Gonzalez had passed the victim. He reportedly approached her from behind, initiated a struggle, and pushed her into the water.
During the assault, the woman lost consciousness. Sheriff John Budensiek detailed that the victim later regained awareness and managed to reach another beach to find assistance. Authorities apprehended Hernandez-Gonzalez after he made statements to police about the attack, including that he felt no emotion about it. He is facing attempted murder charges and has an immigration detainer.
According to reports, Hernandez-Gonzalez had overstayed his work visa. He allegedly fled the scene after the attack, discarded the victim's phone in the ocean, and then consumed marijuana and vodka. The woman and her attacker had no prior interaction before the incident.
