In Callahan, Florida, four individuals, including Judith Windham Addison, 79, Hayden Simmons, 21, Damien Windham, 21, and Erica Foley, 45, have been arrested and charged with child neglect causing great bodily harm. These charges stem from a February 24 incident where a one-year-old child reportedly ingested methamphetamine from a sippy cup. Authorities were alerted by the Department of Children and Families after the incident occurred the previous day.
Investigators determined the child had accessed a cup containing meth. Despite this knowledge, the adults present at the shared home did not call 911. They instead chose to observe the child throughout the night. Medical intervention was only sought after the toddler began vomiting, leading to the child being rushed to a hospital for a suspected overdose. The condition of the child has not been publicly disclosed.
A search warrant executed at the residence uncovered drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes and containers with meth residue. All four adults are permanent residents of the home. Bond amounts range from over $5,000 to over $25,000 for each defendant. Erica Foley faces an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
