Five individuals have been sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court for their involvement in a significant cannabis supply network. Armir Metaj, Patryk Gilwanowski, Endri Arifaj, Gazmir Hameti, and Manuela Metaj received sentences for their roles in the operation.
Humberside Police revealed the group operated a county lines drug ring, using encrypted messaging to mask their activities. They also utilized falsified vehicle insurance to travel between London, Rugby, Sheffield, and Middlesbrough to conduct their illicit business.
Armir Metaj, identified as the ringleader, was sentenced to five years and four months for conspiracy to supply cannabis. While acquitted of cocaine supply charges, his role in the cannabis operation was substantial.
Patryk Gilwanowski received two and a half years, Endri Arifaj an eight-month sentence, and Gazmir Hameti one year and seven months for their conspiracy to supply cannabis pleas. Manuela Metaj received a suspended 18-month sentence for possession of criminal property, having been found not guilty of cannabis supply conspiracy.
