In Jacksonville, Florida, on February 8, a violent carjacking led to a fiery crash and a heroic rescue. Police officers responded to a distress call after Richard Younger, 34, allegedly stole a car with a one-year-old child still in the backseat.
Responding officers located the stolen vehicle and attempted a stop, but the suspect crashed into another car, creating a severe blaze. Officer Almin Residovic rushed into the flames, rescuing the driver whose hair was on fire. He provided immediate medical aid until further help arrived.
Simultaneously, another officer safely rescued the unharmed toddler from the stolen vehicle. A 14-year-old also managed to escape the burning car before emergency services fully intervened.
