Florida Couple Welcomes Wrong Baby After Clinic Error
30 Jan
Summary
- Couple alleges clinic error resulted in birth of a genetically unrelated child.
- Lawsuit claims a different patient's embryo was implanted in April 2025.
- Court hearing requested for emergency action and genetic testing.

A Florida couple, Tiffany Score and Steven Mills, are embroiled in a legal battle with Orlando-based fertility clinic IVF Life, Inc., and its director, Dr. Milton McNichol. The couple alleges that in April 2025, the clinic mistakenly implanted another patient's embryo into Score's uterus.
Score gave birth to a healthy baby girl on December 11, 2025. The couple became suspicious when the child's appearance did not match their own Caucasian heritage, which was later confirmed by genetic testing showing no biological link to either parent.
Filed on January 22 in Orange County Circuit Court, the lawsuit seeks urgent court orders for the clinic to notify all potentially affected patients and to fund extensive genetic testing. An emergency hearing was held on Wednesday, where the couple's attorney argued the mix-up could have occurred during embryo storage in 2020 or the implantation procedure.
