This action was taken in connection with the ongoing disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie. The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed the warrant was based on a received lead, though no arrests resulted from the search. A subsequent traffic stop also led to questioning but no arrests.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on February 1. Her absence was noted by church members when she failed to attend a Sunday service. Guthrie has limited mobility, requiring daily medication and assistance for walking distances. Since her disappearance, local media and TMZ have reported receiving ransom notes and numerous tips. Despite extensive investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with her vanishing.
