In a disturbing turn of events in Fazilka district's Jandwala Mira Sangla village, a man identified as Gurmeet Singh allegedly murdered his divorced wife, Saroj. He reportedly lured her to a meeting under the guise of reconciling their relationship, nearly two years after their divorce. Tragically, Saroj, who had been living with her parents, was killed with a sharp-edged weapon at an isolated spot.
Gurmeet Singh then allegedly attempted to conceal the crime by burying Saroj's body in a nearby field. However, the cries of the victim were heard by a goatherd who was grazing animals nearby. The goatherd's alertness led to villagers being informed, and subsequently, the police were alerted.
Authorities exhumed the body for a post-mortem examination and have since arrested Gurmeet Singh from the village. A video reel shared by Saroj shortly before her death, featuring the couple with a poignant song, has also surfaced, adding a chilling layer to the investigation.
