8 Feb
Summary
- Father faces nearly 30 charges, including murder.
- He allegedly gave his son the gun used in the shooting.
- Jury selection begins Monday in Hall County courtroom.

The trial of Colin Gray, the father of a teenager responsible for a fatal school shooting, begins Monday. Gray faces nearly 30 charges, including second-degree murder, for his alleged role in providing the weapon used in the September 2024 incident at Apalachee High School. Prosecutors contend that a year prior to the shooting, Gray purchased the gun after being informed by a deputy about an FBI tip concerning his son's threats to shoot up a school.
The jury selection process will take place in a Hall County courtroom. This decision to select jurors from Hall County, rather than Barrow County where the shooting occurred, was made by a judge to ensure an impartial jury. The shooting resulted in the tragic deaths of two teachers and two students. A trial date for the son, Colt Gray, has not yet been set.
