- Threats were made to kill the neighbours' dogs.

A father and son have been sentenced to significant prison terms following a violent assault on their neighbours. The dispute, which escalated from a disagreement over fly-tipping and rubbish dumping, led to a brutal attack on December 2, 2026. Ben Chambers, aged 50, and his son Shane, 28, along with an unidentified accomplice, ambushed one neighbour at his home in Navestock, Essex.
Wearing masks, the trio subjected the victim to a savage assault, spraying him with what is believed to be ammonia and then attacking him with bats and knives. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds, including one to his back so severe that it exposed his kidney. His son, who was checking on his father, was also attacked, sprayed with ammonia, and stabbed in the hand.
Both attackers subsequently handed themselves in to police. Ben Chambers received a seven-year sentence for wounding with intent and administering a noxious substance. Shane Chambers was jailed for 10 years and nine months for his involvement in both assaults, including charges of wounding with intent and administering a noxious substance. The court also issued a 15-year restraining order, emphasizing the need for the dispute to end.
During the confrontation, threats were made, with CCTV capturing one assailant stating, "Next time we'll kill your f***ing dogs." The judge stressed that any further action related to the feud would result in more suffering and longer prison sentences for those involved. The third attacker remains at large.
