In a disturbing incident from Lucknow, a father, Vijay Kumar Choubey, and his associate, Abdul Mannan, have been apprehended for the murder of Choubey's 16-year-old daughter. The motive for the killing, as confessed by Choubey, was his anger over the teenager's purported romantic relationship.
The accused allegedly strangled the girl to death on April 14, 2026, in Barabanki, after taking her there under the guise of an exorcism. To obscure her identity, they reportedly used acid to burn her face.
Following the murder, Choubey attempted to deceive authorities by filing a missing person report. However, his suspicious actions and the subsequent involvement of his father, a retired police inspector, prompted a detailed police investigation.
An audio recording provided by the victim's boyfriend became a key piece of evidence. The recording captured the girl mentioning leaving with her father. The duo initially attempted to dispose of the body in a canal but abandoned it roadside due to the presence of people.
