Father Accused of Child's Brutal Murder; Red Flags Ignored
6 Jun
Summary
- Father arrested for murder after child's remains found buried.
- Child's injuries inconsistent with father's accident story.
- Loved ones claim warnings about father's behavior were dismissed.

Jacob Bevins made his first court appearance on Friday, where a judge found probable cause to hold him for 72 hours as prosecutors finalize charges. He faces potential charges including murder, manslaughter, and unlawful disposal of remains.
Investigators learned in May that four-year-old Aiden had not been seen for over a year. Bevins initially claimed Aiden was with family in Idaho, but later admitted the child had died from an accident and was buried under their home.
A preliminary coroner's report revealed Aiden suffered multiple fractures and burns, findings inconsistent with Bevins' account. A child abuse expert's opinion further corroborated this. Loved ones stated that prior concerns about Bevins' neglect and domestic violence history were not adequately addressed.
Aiden had previously been in foster care for nearly two years due to safety concerns. His former foster parents expressed anger that state laws, such as "The Keeping Families Together Act," may have contributed to this tragedy by prioritizing family reunification over child safety.
Bevins was also found to have three outstanding warrants for offenses including motor vehicle theft. Bail has been set at $150,000. He is scheduled for his next court appearance on Monday.
