A fatal hit-and-run claimed the life of 26-year-old Galilea Adan early Sunday morning near the old Sharpstown Mall. The Houston Police Department is investigating the incident, which occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Bellerive Drive.
According to police, the incident stemmed from an altercation involving a group leaving a local dancehall. The suspect, identified as a male driver, reportedly pulled over, exited his vehicle with passengers, then re-entered the car and struck Adan before fleeing the scene.
Adan was found in the roadway and pronounced dead by emergency responders. Investigators located the suspect's grey SUV abandoned nearby, but the driver remains at large. Adan's cousin, Kimberly Trujillo, described her as "young and full of life" and urged the suspect to surrender to authorities.
