A deadly crash in Orange County early Sunday morning has led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Orlando man on DUI and leaving the scene charges. The collision happened at the intersection of Central Florida Parkway and International Drive.
The suspect was reportedly driving a 2004 Ford F-250 westbound when he ran a red light, entering the path of a southbound 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. The impact caused the truck to overturn.
Tragically, the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was pronounced dead at the hospital. A passenger in the Jetta was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the Ford F-250 were unharmed.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was located and detained by law enforcement. Authorities report that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
