In a shocking turn of events, Farhan Akhtar's mother Honey Irani's driver, Naresh Ramvinod Singh, has been arrested by the Bandra police for alleged fuel card fraud. According to the complaint filed by Honey Irani's manager, Diya Bhatia, on October 1, 2025, the driver and a petrol pump employee, Arun Amar Singh, together cheated the household of around ₹12 lakh.
Investigations revealed serious discrepancies, with the car Naresh used having a 35-litre tank but records showing 62 litres of diesel being filled. He had also purchased oil for a vehicle that had been sold seven years ago. During police interrogation, Naresh reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting that he had taken the fuel cards from Farhan Akhtar's former driver and had been using them at the S.V. Road petrol pump near Bandra Lake to withdraw cash without refueling, in amounts ranging between ₹1,000 and ₹1,500 per transaction.
The Bandra police have registered a case against Naresh Singh under sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. The petrol pump employee is also being investigated for his involvement in the alleged fraud.
