Three individuals, including a man posing as a tantric, were arrested for defrauding a 79-year-old man in northeast Delhi. The accused allegedly cheated the elderly victim of Rs 39.3 lakh through cash and UPI payments, promising to help recover buried ancestral gold using occult rituals. They also stole gold jewellery valued at Rs 15 lakh from his home. The main accused, Tahsin, posed as Krishna Pandit and gained the victim's confidence by showing a genuine gold coin. The arrests followed a complaint by the victim, Girijesh Singh, who reported being drugged during a ritual conducted on the night of August 4. Investigators recovered cash, an SUV, tantric clothing, and various identification documents. They suspect the trio used multiple identities and staged elaborate rituals to con victims.
