Fake Exam Scams: 100+ Doctors Caught Using Forged Certificates
7 Jun
Summary
- Foreign medical graduates paid Rs 74 lakh for fake certificates.
- Over 100 doctors identified using forged exam results.
- Rajasthan Medical Council officials implicated in the racket.

In a significant crackdown, Rajasthan police arrested three foreign medical graduates on Sunday for allegedly using forged screening exam certificates. These individuals, who completed their MBBS degrees in Kazakhstan, had failed the mandatory Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) examination required to practice in India. They collectively paid an alleged Rs 74 lakh for fake certificates to bypass the exam and secure internships.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) investigation has so far identified more than 100 doctors who obtained these fraudulent FMG certificates. These doctors used the fake documents to gain entry into government medical colleges for internships and subsequently obtained registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC). The arrests are part of a widening probe into a large-scale fake certification racket.
Investigators suspect the racket operated with the involvement of RMC officials and employees. The alleged mastermind, Bhanaram Mali, charged between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh per candidate to arrange forged certificates and facilitate RMC registration. The ongoing probe has already led to the arrest of former RMC registrar Rajesh Sharma, UDC Akhilesh Mathur, LDC Farhan Hasan, and several foreign medical graduates.
