Medical Forgery Ring Busted: 73 Suspects Used Fake FMGE!

Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) has apprehended two individuals for allegedly using counterfeit Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificates to obtain medical internships. These graduates, who earned their medical degrees abroad, are accused of procuring forged FMGE documents to bypass the mandatory examination required for practicing in India.

The primary suspect, Bhana Ram Mali, a medical graduate from Kazakhstan, was arrested on February 3, 2026. Authorities state he is the alleged mastermind behind an extensive network, believed to have supplied forged FMGE certificates to around 73 overseas medical graduates who had failed the actual examination.

Indraraj Singh Gurjar, the second accused arrested on Thursday, also holds an MBBS degree from Kazakhstan and allegedly obtained a forged FMGE certificate from Mali in December 2022. Gurjar reportedly used this fraudulent document to complete an internship in Alwar and secure provisional registration.

These arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into a larger fraud. In December 2025, three other graduates with foreign medical degrees were arrested for submitting similar forged certificates, prompting Mali, who had absconded, to be a target of intensified pursuit until his apprehension at New Delhi airport.

Efforts are currently underway to meticulously verify all suspect FMGE certificates submitted to the Rajasthan Medical Council. The SOG has registered a fresh case as it continues to dismantle this alleged fraudulent network operating within the medical internship and registration system.
