Panwar's scheme involved uploading reels of purported refunds and sending manipulated screenshots to victims, claiming their funds were held up. He assured them of a quick release upon payment of a processing fee. Several individuals fell prey to this deception, transferring money based on his false assurances. The operation was systematic, targeting those already affected by cybercrime.
Arrested at Bani Park police station, Panwar faces charges under a statewide campaign against cybercriminals. Police recovered QR codes from his phone and are collaborating with the cyber cell to trace financial transactions and identify all victims.
