Cyber Police Nab Man Using Dead Cop's Photo

A 26-year-old chemical analyst, Deepak Kaushik, was arrested by Bareilly cyber police on Thursday for allegedly operating a fake Instagram account. Kaushik resided in Meerganj and worked at DBOL Sugar Mill. He used the photograph of Akash Yadav, a sub-inspector who died in a road accident, for the account named "Deepak Jat Bareilly."
Kaushik posted objectionable remarks about a woman named Neha Bharti, which escalated into a controversy. He later deleted the account amidst the backlash. The cybercrime police successfully traced two mobile numbers registered in Kaushik's name linked to the fake profile.
Investigators utilized electronic evidence, surveillance, and IMEI details to apprehend Kaushik near Jhumka Chauraha. He allegedly admitted to using the police officer's image to evade detection. A smartphone and SIM cards used for the account were recovered from his possession. An FIR was registered under IT Act and BNS sections.
