A factory worker, identified as Akash, was severely assaulted with bricks by three intoxicated men named Abhishek, Vishal, and Abbu. The attack occurred on Wednesday evening near JJ Colony after a verbal dispute stemming from an old disagreement. Akash reported that the men verbally abused him before physically assaulting him, throwing him to the ground and repeatedly hitting him with bricks.
He sustained a significant blow to the back of his head, causing him to lose consciousness, and further injuries to his upper back. Bystanders intervened and transported Akash to a local hospital, where he received six stitches for his head wound. A non-cognizable report was registered at the Sector 49 police station, and two of the accused were placed under preventive detention for disturbing the peace. Videos of the assault were widely shared online, prompting public calls for action against the perpetrators.
