A former police officer has received a suspended jail sentence after being convicted of harassing his ex-partner through repeated silent telephone calls. PC Ashley Barrett, who served as a specialist operations trainer with West Yorkshire Police, was sentenced to eight weeks imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.
Sheffield Magistrates' Court heard that Barrett made silent calls between October and November 2024, following the end of his relationship in January of that year. The 41-year-old officer denied the charges, suggesting his phone had been hacked.
