Former NRL player David Mead bravely confronted two masked intruders who attempted to break into his home late Tuesday night. The incident took place at approximately 1:42 AM while Mead, his partner, and their two young sons, aged six and ten, were asleep upstairs.
Alerted by a noise, Mead instinctively reacted. He quickly descended the stairs, confronting one of the burglars just as they entered the house. Wearing only his underwear, Mead's sudden appearance caused the intruders to flee. They were seen sprinting down the footpath and over the front gate before escaping in a vehicle.
Mead shared the CCTV footage of the attempted break-in on social media, expressing his shock and issuing a stern warning to young people against engaging in criminal behavior. The former player, who had a distinguished career with the Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos, and Catalan Dragons, emphasized his relief that no one was harmed during the terrifying ordeal.
