Witnesses claim that Brown was the one who fired the shots, which were captured on video. Two shell casings were found at the scene, though Brown was reportedly unarmed when police detained him.
After the incident, Brown had fled to the United Arab Emirates in an apparent attempt to evade U.S. authorities. However, following a months-long search, he was apprehended by U.S. Marshals and extradited to New Jersey on November 7, 2025. Brown is currently being held at the Essex County Jail, awaiting transfer to Florida to face the attempted murder charge.
If convicted, Brown could face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. This is just the latest in a long line of legal troubles for the former NFL player, who has been accused of various offenses, including battery, domestic violence, and failure to pay child support.
