Father Arrested in Plot to Rob Ex-IAS Officer's Home

Chatushrungi police have made a significant breakthrough in the dacoity at dismissed IAS probationer Puja Khedkar's Baner Road bungalow, arresting Khammo Veerbahadur Shahi, the father of the main suspect. The arrest occurred in Kalyan, Thane, with Shahi being remanded in police custody until January 18.
The investigation points to a gang of seven individuals, all reportedly from Nepal, executing the crime on the night of January 11. They allegedly sedated Khedkar's parents, cook, watchman, and driver before tying them up and forcing entry into cupboards to steal belongings.
Authorities are actively searching for Shahi's son, Hikmat, who was recently employed as domestic help by the Khedkars, and the other six accomplices. Investigations aim to ascertain the full extent of stolen property and any prior criminal activities by the group.
