A former doctor, Nathaniel Spencer, originating from Birmingham, is now facing serious legal repercussions. Prosecutors have announced that he has been charged with a total of 45 sexual offenses. These charges encompass a range of alleged acts, including sexual assault and assault by penetration, with a significant number of the alleged victims being under the age of 13.
The alleged criminal activities are reported to have taken place over a four-year period, from 2017 to 2021. The extensive investigation, described as complex by Staffordshire police, focused on incidents that allegedly occurred at two hospitals: Royal Stoke university hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital in Dudley.
Spencer is expected to make his first appearance at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. The Crown Prosecution Service has affirmed that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial, deeming it in the public interest to pursue these criminal proceedings.
