Ex-Actor Arrested for Motorcycle Theft Spree in Mumbai

On October 29, 2025, the Bangur Nagar police in Mumbai arrested a 29-year-old man, Sunit Chaudhary, for his involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts. Chaudhary, who has played minor acting parts in the past, has been booked in 14 theft cases over the last two years.

The latest incident occurred between October 14-15, 2025, when a theft was reported in the basement parking area of a mall in Malad. After registering an FIR, the police team, led by Inspector Amit Shitole and Assistant Inspector Sanjay Sarolkar, tracked Chaudhary to his residence in Madh and recovered two stolen bikes from him.

Investigations revealed that Chaudhary would wear a helmet before stealing a bike to avoid suspicion. He always carried a helmet and a cutter in his bag and wore a mask. The stolen bikes were then taken to his hometown in Jalgaon, where he would claim they previously belonged to actors in order to lure potential buyers.

Over the past two years, Chaudhary has allegedly committed thefts in the jurisdictions of Amboli, Aarey, Versova, and Vile Parle police stations. The case was solved under the supervision of DCP Sandeep Jadhav and Senior Inspector Ravindra Avhad.
