A prisoner serving a lengthy sentence for attempted murder has absconded from an open jail in Cheshire. Kieran Cameron, 43, was reported missing from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington at 20:20 GMT on Tuesday. He is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for a 2016 attempted killing in Dorset.
Cameron is described as white, approximately 5ft 6in tall, with receding hair and a ginger and grey beard. Police have issued an alert, strongly advising the public against approaching the inmate. He is known to have connections in Manchester, Liverpool, and Dorset.
Authorities are appealing for public assistance to locate Cameron, who is unlawfully at large. Anyone who spots him is urged to call 999 immediately and not to approach him directly. The search is ongoing.
