Elderly Woman Beaten to Death by Son in Hospital

In a shocking incident that occurred just two days ago, on October 9th, 2025, a 60-year-old woman admitted to the Sribhumi Civil Hospital for treatment of a fever was allegedly beaten to death by her own son. The victim, identified as Rajkumari Sinha, a resident of Patharkandi in Sribhumi district, had been admitted to the hospital the previous night and was recovering well. Doctors had even prepared her for discharge on the morning of the tragic incident.

However, moments before Rajkumari was set to leave the hospital, a violent altercation broke out between her and her son, Sanjeev Sinha, who had come to visit her earlier that day. According to hospital staff and local witnesses, the argument soon turned physical, and Sanjeev allegedly assaulted his mother so brutally that she collapsed on the floor of the hospital room.

The hospital authorities immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot and detained Sanjeev. Rajkumari's body has been sent for an autopsy, and the police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the accused.
