Elderly Businessman Robbed of Rs4 Lakh Gold Chain in Pune

In a daring daylight robbery, a 73-year-old finance businessman was targeted and robbed of his Rs4 lakh gold chain on Taljai Hill in Pune on November 6, 2025. The incident occurred around 5:15 AM as the elderly victim was taking his regular morning walk on the hillock.

According to the police report, an unknown man followed the victim near the temple and snatched his valuable gold chain. The robber then pushed the senior citizen to the ground, causing injuries to his knees. The assailant's accomplice, who had been waiting nearby on a scooter, quickly arrived at the scene, and the two thieves made their getaway.

The victim, a resident of the Salisbury Park area, later went home and reported the incident to the Sahakarnagar police station. Authorities have launched an investigation and are working on some leads to apprehend the suspects, who were described as wearing black trousers, jackets, and scarves to conceal their faces.

Despite the lack of CCTV coverage on the hillock, the police are hopeful of making arrests soon. They have also increased night patrols in the area to enhance security for local residents and visitors.
