Pedestrian Killed in East LA Hit-and-Run

A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident in East Los Angeles on Monday night. The collision occurred at approximately 11:02 p.m. at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard and South Arizona Avenue. The victim was reportedly crossing the intersection at the time of the impact.
Witnesses at the scene observed the suspect vehicle pull over following the crash. However, the driver exited the car and fled across the street on foot. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and found the pedestrian unresponsive. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.
Investigators are continuing their efforts to locate the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
