A Nanticoke man is in custody after a terrifying incident in Taylor where he allegedly threatened children and engaged in dangerous driving. Michael Frazier, 25, is accused of nearly hitting several children riding bicycles on West Taylor Street on Monday night.
Following the near-collision, Frazier reportedly returned to the scene and made death threats against the children. Police located Frazier in his vehicle, where he attempted to conceal himself from officers. During the encounter, it was noted that Frazier smelled of alcohol and admitted to consuming cocktails and smoking marijuana earlier.
Further complicating the situation, Frazier's father reported that his son had threatened to drive to Taylor to kill him, with his girlfriend warning of his intoxication. Frazier failed a field sobriety test. When informed he was going to jail, he resisted arrest by pushing off a police vehicle and fleeing on foot, only to be quickly recaptured.
Frazier is currently held in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail. He faces charges including reckless endangerment, reckless driving, making terroristic threats, driving under the influence, flight to avoid apprehension, and resisting arrest. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11.
