A 38-year-old man, Ashley Quinton, has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison for causing the death of 18-year-old motorcyclist Tyler Durn. The fatal incident occurred in May 2023 in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, when Quinton, who had consumed nine pints of beer, was more than double the legal alcohol limit.
Durn was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision on Ermin Street. The court heard that Tyler Durn was traveling at speeds between 66mph and 76mph on a 30mph road at the time, a factor contributing to the tragic outcome. Quinton, who had previously been disqualified for speeding, pleaded guilty to causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the limit.
