A woman, Heather Allmond, 38, faced legal consequences after a concerning incident involving driving under the influence. She consumed alcohol while traveling on a train to Nottinghamshire before attempting to drive from Newark Station.
Shortly after departing the station, Allmond's vehicle collided with a parked caravan and became trapped beneath it. Members of the public assisted in freeing her from the wreckage. The incident occurred on Lincoln Street shortly after 6 PM on May 2, 2024.
At Nottingham Magistrates' Court, Allmond admitted to driving without due care and attention and drink driving. She was sentenced to a 12-month community order, including 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days. Additionally, she was disqualified from driving for one year and ordered to pay a £114 fine and £1,000 in court costs.
