Travis Elliot Lewis, a 37-year-old Jacksonville resident, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving after a traffic stop in Callahan. Deputies responded to a domestic incident on Friday, June 12, where the victim reported being assaulted by Lewis.
During their investigation, deputies located Lewis driving at high speeds in a reckless manner. A traffic stop revealed three young children, including two toddlers and an infant, inside the vehicle. Lewis was subsequently taken to the Nassau County Jail, where his breathalyzer tests showed a blood alcohol content exceeding the legal limit by over 50%.
He now faces charges including DUI, reckless driving, and three counts of driving under the influence with a person under 18 in the vehicle.
